Mema Bike Tours was born in 2017 thanks to Pier’s intuition. Passionate about mountain biking, and having cycled in many areas in Italy and abroad, he thinks that Gallura, the north-eastern part of Sardinia, deserves to have a quality service to discover the thousand facets of its territory by mountain bike.
Right from the start, Mema Bike Tours focused on high-end electric mountain bikes, which are the means that best suit the area and a very varied public. In particular, the e-bike has changed the world of cycling, making it accessible to a much wider audience.
This is especially true in Sardinia, where physical activity in the summer is made difficult by the temperatures, but thanks to the support provided by the e-bikes it is possible to enjoy a beautiful day discovering the area by bicycle without suffering from the heat, before taking a dip in the sea.
Hi, I’m Pier Merlin, founder and guide of Mema Bike Tours. I grew up in South Tyrol and lived in Germany, Scotland and Switzerland, all beautiful places. But then I discovered Sardinia, which stole my heart! I left a secure and well paid job as an engineer to move to Sardinia and completely change my life. I decided to turn my passion for mountain biking into a job, becoming an e-bike guide in Sardinia: I love being in contact with nature and people and, above all, I love my job!
I would like to show you this land through my eyes and my stories, and convey to you the magical sensations experienced on the saddle of an e-mountain bike in a magical land like Sardinia. That’s why I decided to call my company “Merlin’s Magic Bike Tours”, or simply “Mema Bike Tours”.
In addition to being a cycling tour guide, I am also an instructor of Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga, and I offer yoga practices immersed in nature during excursions.
Hi! I’m Alberto Nani, and with my company Active Holiday Sardinia I organize e-bike tours especially in the Dorgali and Supramonte area. Together with Pier, we have many things in common, such as the fact that we have a practically identical dog. Our great passion is to tell Sardinia, a land that we have chosen as our home. Every now and then, we get lost around the island in search of unexplored paths chasing mouflons, obviously by bike. We are here to help you discover Sardinia in a unique and unforgettable way!
Hi, I’m Alessandro Brandanu, born in Gallura and super passionate about outdoor sports. After many years of motorbike off-road I have dedicated myself to MTB which allows the discovery of the territory in a more complete and sustainable way.
5 years ago I have transformed this passion into a profession by becoming a cycling tour guide and I recently launched my “startup” MTB Tours Gallura to promote cycling tourism and knowledge of this magnificent corner of paradise together with Pier, Alberto and all the operators in the sector.
